Long Buckby Badgers 1 – Wellingborough Badgers 0      27 March – William Parker School

With Wellingborough Badgers only turning up with 6 players, Long Buckby offered the playing services of three senior ladies – Christine Walsh, Lynn Windatt and Katherine Kates, to try and even the sides and give everyone a game.

A fast start to the game saw some early pressure from Long Buckby, but without threatening the goal.  Wellingborough also had a couple of chances, but good goalkeeping from Jake Bennett kept the score even.  The break through came midway through the first half when good passes from James Bennion, Alex Hopkins and Oliver Windatt released Finn Pickard who placed the ball underneath an advancing Wellingborough keeper. The half finished much as it started, with both sides pressing for further goals.

The second half was similar to the first, some great defending by Ed van der Kuil kept Wellingborough at bay, whilst the front two for Long Buckby of Thomas and Connor Robson kept the Wellingborough defense busy all game. No further goals were scored leaving the score 1-0 to Long Buckby.
